Permits to Work

Permits to Work play a vital role in helping to ensure that the correct steps are taken to ensure your employees and contractors are safe while working on high risk systems within your organisation. Typically a Permit will detail the work that will be carried out, how it will be carried out, the timescales and any necessary precautions that will need to be implemented. While these steps are pretty standard across Permit to Work systems the details required will vary vastly between both organisations and individual systems within an organisation.

Therefore until now it has been impossible to develop a one size fits all solution to this problem with many company’s either relying on paper based forms or adopting one style of permit and “hoping for the best”. At AssessNET we set ourselves the challenge of creating a system that works for everybody and we believe that we’ve managed it.

Adopting a template based approach we’ve enabled organisations to write Permit’s that can be easily changed so that they are specific to the job being carried out. Templates can also be reused so if an individual job is frequently carried out permits can be issued with the minimum of effort.

And that’s not all… AssessNET also manages each permit notifying the necessary people via both email and Task Manager when the Permit is due to expire and allowing Permits to be extended using customisable forms. AssessNET also gives managers the visibility to view all expired, open and upcoming Permits via a dedicated console. …Such feats would be impossible with a paper based system.
